Married at First Sight [On-Going] - Married At First Sight Chapter 4600
Chapter 4600
“With someone like River, he really doesn’t need blind dates,” the secretary said. “If he just gave people a chance, there’d be a line of successful women ready to marry him.”
Romina rolled her eyes. “Even if I don’t arrange these blind dates, I’d still owe him the meals.”
“I don’t know why my luck’s been so bad lately,” she muttered. “Every time I go up against River, I lose. That’s it—I’m going to a temple this weekend. I need to pray. Maybe Buddha can keep me from falling into River’s traps.”
The secretary burst out laughing. “Vice President, I thought you didn’t believe in that stuff? You’ve always said we make our own luck, that destiny is in our hands, and we should work hard for everything. You used to say if gods and Buddhas could really grant wishes, nobody would need to try anymore. We’d all just pray for what we want.”
Romina replied, “That’s true. You have to work for what you want. God helps those who help themselves. But for now… go find me another blind date candidate. We’ve got dinner with River tonight.”
The secretary grinned. “Got it. Don’t be too discouraged, Vice President. We all know these blind dates won’t go anywhere.”
